When a platoon of front line soldiers earn the nickname ‘Yellow-Bellies’ they can only rid themselves of it by fighting like supermen.
Here, then, is the story of one such platoon, and of how on the bullet-swept slopes of an Italian hill they grabbed desperately at the chance to get rid of that yellow smear.
Hill 13 it was called officially, but to the heroic ‘Yellow-Bellies’ it will always be ‘Dead Man’s Hill’ . . .
