Summary:
It was to be an easy job for Tommy Hardy, a flight-lieutenant in the Royal Air Force. Just go over to Holland for a couple of days, chat to the pilots who were flying the new Tempest fighter, and bring back their reports.
Nothing to it. Except that within twenty-four hours Tommy was up in the air in a Tempest himself, and also up to his neck in trouble on the ground!
