The man holding the knife was Lieutenant Roy Engers, and he was making his bid to save Britain from an airborne invasion by Nazis disguised as British paratroopers – Roy’s last desperate move in a deadly game of “Hunt the Traitor” that had taken him and his men half-way across occupied Europe.
