Description

Summary:

Though the R.A.F. were crying out for fighter pilots, squadron after squadron chucked him out. Yet he was young, brave, a first-class pilot and a deadly shot.

What was it about flying officer Robin Lawrence that put the fear of death into anyone who had to fly alongside him?

Just this – he was the worst day-dreamer in Britain. He acted so many parts of famous heroes that he’d no brain left to watch what he was doing – and this while flying a Spitfire at nearly 400 m.p.h.!

So they booted him out to a remote desert airfield to fly World War I planes and patrol oil pipe-lines. Booted him straight into his most fantastic dream ever – and every bit of it came true!
