Though the R.A.F. were crying out for fighter pilots, squadron after squadron chucked him out. Yet he was young, brave, a first-class pilot and a deadly shot.

What was it about flying officer Robin Lawrence that put the fear of death into anyone who had to fly alongside him?

Just this – he was the worst day-dreamer in Britain. He acted so many parts of famous heroes that he’d no brain left to watch what he was doing – and this while flying a Spitfire at nearly 400 m.p.h.!

So they booted him out to a remote desert airfield to fly World War I planes and patrol oil pipe-lines. Booted him straight into his most fantastic dream ever – and every bit of it came true!

Reading crease with mild rippling towards spine, general wear. Cover is clean and bright, book is sound and in good condition. Bagged and boarded. Please examine photos carefully and see our notes on item condition before purchasing.
