Lieutenant Jim Harvey stood beside the wrecked Japanese staff car and frowned. In his hand he held a sealed glass test-tube, one of dozens that had been in the car. It was certainly very different from the usual loot that he and his men found when they ambushed Japanese transport on the lonely jungle road.

Jim didn’t know it then, but the secret the test tube held was to start him on the most dangerous mission of his life . . .
