Veteran pilot Brian Miller was proud when he was sent to command a squadron of Tempest fighters. With a top speed of 435 miles an hour he thought his planes could rule the skies.

Yet every mission was dogged by mysterious Focke-Wulfs nicknamed “The Long Noses”. Not only were they a match for the Tempests but they seemed to come from nowhere.
