Description
Summary:
One day he was Flight-lieutenant “Topper” Brown, just a rather dumb, slow, young pilot everybody liked – but laughed at. The idea of Topper ever becoming an ace was too far-fetched.
Then he was shot up and crash-landed. And out of the flames rose a new Topper – a pilot who could fly anything that had wings; and fly it brilliantly, an ace who could outfight anything the Luftwaffe put up against him and who could hold a Spitfire in flaming shreds together long enough to clear the skies of Nazis.
But his mates said Topper wasn’t like himself these days. In fact they suspected he wasn’t even human anymore!
