Description
Summary:
Whizzing in under the noses of the Nazi warships, E-boats, dive-bombers, U-boats – and out again, the British Air Sea Rescue launches against all odds picked up the crews of R.A.F. planes forced to ditch on the way home. Regardless of weather or danger, they were always there, the last life-line for the desperate crews of damaged planes.
We bring you part of their great story – the exciting story of “Sailor” Blunt, the scruffy, laughing bunch of pirates who were his launch crew, and the young R.A.F. wireless “Op”, Sgt. Colley Smythe, posted to join them – hating their guts because they’d once failed to save the crew of his Lancaster.
