Kaarlo, a sixteen-year-old Lapp, knew nothing about frontiers. As his people had done for centuries, he moved on skies across the Northern reaches of Finland, Sweden and Norway with ease and skill.
But now the Nazis had occupied Norway, closed the border with Sweden. Any ordinary young lad would have accepted the new rules, even if there were desperate people in need of guides to cross the frontier to escape the Germans.
Luckily for these refugees, Kaarlo was no ordinary young lad . . .
