Description
Summary:
The Messerschmitt 323, able to carry huge numbers of troops, was one of the biggest aircraft ever used during the Second World War. During the great German-Italian retreat from North Africa, they ferried thousands to safety across the Sicilian Narrows.
This story is about one of those giants and a tiny ship of the Royal Navy that was stupid enough to shoot it down. Stupid? Well, yes – because the handful of sailors who made up the crew suddenly found themselves surrounded by nearly two hundred highly dangerous prisoners-of-war!
