Description
Summary:
There among the dials and controls in the cockpit of Johnny Leigh’s Catalina flying-boat hung a colourful ju-ju charm, a mixture of old bones, beads and goodness knows what else . . . supplied courtesy of the old witch-doctor who prowled about the bay in Africa from where the Cats operated.
These flying-boats’ dangerous task was to combat the German U-boat menace and keep the sea lanes open to Allied supply ships – despite the growing problems of sabotage back at their base.
So woe betide anyone who mocked Johnny’s lucky charm!
