Description
Summary:
It was something you didn’t notice in the heat of a dogfight. Only a keen-eyed watcher, well away from the battle, would have spotted it. Every time 977 Squadron met the Germans there was always one Spitfire that flew on the edge of the battle, well out of danger. That Spitfire belonged to Squadron Leader Peter Jefferson.
Ted Winfield was the first man to get wise to Jefferson – but how do you tell your C.O. he’s a coward?
