Summary:

For Jack Farrer, an officer in the Royal Marines at the end of the eighteenth century, it was a grand life. Hard and dangerous it might be, but he enjoyed every minute spent in action at sea and on land.

It all began to go badly, though, when he successfully carried out a daring mission to rescue a French aristocrat being held prisoner. That led to a challenge to a duel – a deadly clash that Jack would soon realise was, in fact, a Duel With The Devil.
