Artillery fire can reach clean across a battlefield and destroy your enemy without him even being able to see you. To do that, you’ve got to be able to spot him – even if he’s over the horizon.
Lieutenant George Jones was one of the men who did that dicey job, flying over enemy territory, attracting fire from every weapon. As if that wasn’t bad enough, a German spotter pilot was out to shoot down George’s unarmed Auster.
