Summary:
German 88mm guns were amongst the most deadly artillery weapons of the Second World War. So a battery of them hidden in an Italian town was set to threaten every British unit in the area and hold up the Allied advance.
But one Italian soldier, Sergeant Gino Gabbini, was fed up of bullying the Germans – and he wasn’t going to let them use his town as a hiding place!
