Summary:
Eyes glazed by the desert sun, half-demented by thirst, the German captain thought his last hours had come. Lost in the desert without transport, there was no hope for him or his men.
Then . . . was it a mirage? No, it was real — the robed figure of an Arab, striding over the dunes, face hidden in the shadow of his hood-like head-dress.
A pair of gleaming eyes studied the Germans for a long time, then the Arab turned and beckoned to the troops to follow him.
The captain croaked an order, and followed by his men, stumbled after the strange figure . . .
