Description
Summary:
John Brock, king of all safe-breakers, had been quite happy to sit out the war in jail, serving a sentence for one of the few jobs they’d been able to pin on him. Then he’d been offered a free pardon if he would go into action and open enemy safes for the army. But Brock said no. He was happy where he was, far away from the hot lead.
So they offered Brock money to do the job. He accepted on the spot, thinking he’d been real smart. But he was soon to find out that you don’t play games with the army . . . and win.
