Spain was a neutral country during the Second World War, so the big guns on Mont Diablo, that stood guardian to the entrance of the Mediterranean Sea, were never called into action.

Why then did they suddenly open fire on a British convoy, threatening to escalate the war?

Whatever the reason, the guns on “Devil’s Mountain” had to be silenced!
