Description
Summary:
The flag first carried into battle by a famous Prussian cavalry regiment was destined to change hands many times after a French unit seized it . . . and then lost it back to its rightful owners.
This pattern was to repeat itself over the years until the dark days of the Second World War when France lay beaten, and the flag was reclaimed by the Germans who boasted that they would never lose it again.
A small bunch of fiery Frenchmen thought differently, though, and were prepared to act despite the danger.
