Summary:
In 1898 a flotilla of gunboats set sail down the Nile to bring men and supplies to the British forces attempting to reconquer the Sudan. Lieutenant Riley Cavendish was proud to join this expedition, until he saw his posting – H.M.S. Hornet, a battered, old tub with a sloppy crew and a useless captain.
It was up to Riley to turn them into an efficient fighting force capable of taking on the fanatical Dervish army and their murderous tower of death. The fate of the entire campaign depended on it!
