Description
Summary:
Thousands upon thousands of lads to young to join the British Army during the First World War lied about their age so that they could enlist . . . and then sail off to France to do their bit for King and Country.
It was tough enough out there for even battle-hardened soldiers, so you can imagine how difficult it was for the likes of young Billy Pringle. He had never even been away from his village before.
Billy did have one advantage, though – a four-legged friend to watch out for him. Yes, a dog . . . and a German one at that!
