Tug-boat Mike Brannon – a new name to be added to the roll of honour of the British Navy – a brawling sea-dog of the same swashbuckling, fearless breed as Drake and Nelson.

He won his fame the day he set out to tow a huge floating dock across the Pacific with three rusty tugs. Brannon had hardly cleared harbour when the Japanese started looking for him.

It was going to be some battle . . . some voyage!
