Summary:

Corporal Mike Barrett, escaped POW, reached Berlin just as the city fell to Soviet forces. He’d been on the run for months; he was dirty, dishevelled and dead beat.

Now though his troubles would be over. The Russians, being allies of the British, would see that he got home at long last.

But no. One wrong move saw him sent to a Soviet labour camp more brutal than any POW cage. Here there was only one order Work . . . Or Die!
