Description

Summary:

During the First World War, Captain Gus Brodie and Lieutenant Dave Runthorpe of the Royal Engineers were given the job of destroying strategically vital Romanian oil installations. Somehow, though, they found themselves in charge of tons of valuable Russian petrol and on the run from the German Army.

Their mission had gone wildly off-target, but they had help in the unlikely form of some escaped British prisoners and local villagers. But even all that help couldn’t turn their ancient, slow-moving river barges into a fighting force . . . could it?
