By 1945, the Allied vice was closing in on the doomed Third Reich. Though some diehards, convinced of a final Nazi victory, were fighting on, most Allied soldiers were thinking about going home when the fighting was done.

For one group of British soldiers on Germany’s northern coast those hopes would be shattered. And, though war-weary, the British were still full of fight. But what could they do against an aggressor they couldn’t even see!
