Description
Summary:
“Suicide Hill” rose bare and bleak out of the surrounding jungle. Its sides were pitted with muddy shell-holes and hour by hour more Japanese shells rained down on a determined handful of British troops who had sworn never to surrender. They knew they couldn’t hold out for ever . . . but who could beat both the jungle and the Japanese to relieve them?
What they didn’t know was that a special force of superbly-trained jungle fighters had orders to try and reach them – or die trying. And not one of the relief force, a bunch of heroes known as the “Swamp Rats,” had the least intention of dying.
What a battle that was.
