Eighty years ago, in September 1939, Germany invaded Poland and set in motion a war that would claim all of Europe and the world beyond.
But before that, in those early days, it seemed there was only one Poland to defend against the fascists. And so, those brave enough took what arms they could to defend their home, not knowing that the fight was far from over.
