Description
Summary:
An “angel”, as many airmen could tell you, is a thousand feet of altitude, and Archie Moran never felt more at home than when he had a few angels under him. He was a hero of the Pacific Theatre who had four zeros under his belt and was ready to take on Jerry kites in Italy to get his ace. The only problem was that the fighting in Italy was very different. They were attacking ground forces, taking out bridges, roads and supply runs. That meant flying low where there were no angels – just tanks, AA guns and a lot of hate for Yank pilots.
