The battleship Bismarck was the pride of the Kriegsmarine during the Second World War. A mighty warship preying remorselessly on the allied convoys that ferried supplies between the US and Britain. She was unsinkable – or so her crew thought.
Matrose Jurgen Voss was certainly convinced of the great ship’s infallibility. Some of his more seasoned crewmates, childhood friend Peter and cousin Helmut, knew better than to believe themselves invulnerable, but none of them were to know the true danger they were soon to face – that these were the last days of the Bismarck.
