Summary:
Squadron Leader Ricky Lomax stared sadly across the barbed wire that stood between him and freedom. To the German prison camp guards, he was just another R.A.F. pilot shot down over the Fatherland. But to the rest of his squadron back at their base in England, he was the lowest of the low. For he had jumped out of his damaged Lancaster over Germany, leaving his crew to their fate.
At least, that was what everybody said – and Ricky had no way of proving otherwise . . .
