Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ
Do you buy collections?

This is by far the question we get asked the most and the simple answer is yes. We source much of our stock by buying in bulk from wholesale book suppliers. However, we do also buy larger collections (more than 100) or some more sought after items from private sellers. We buy Commando, Air Ace, War and Battle Picture Library, annuals, holiday specials and more. Please see this article for more detail. If the average condition meets our needs, you are able to accept Paypal as payment and prepared to box them up and send them to us then please do get in touch and provide details of quantity, condition and some photos.

I am looking for some specific titles/numbers, can I send you my wishlist?

Yes! We welcome wishlists from our customers. Please use our contact form to send these to us as this method provides us with confirmation of consent to contact you in relation to your query.

Do you have any special offers?

Our ‘bundles’ provide a discount on the normal individual purchase price. We may make other special offers available from time to time. We recommend subscribing to our newsletter to be kept informed of current and upcoming special offers.

Is your website secure?

Absolutely! You should see a padlock in the address bar which confirms that the website and your transactions have a high level of security. You should always look out for this when making any purchase online.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards – Visa, Mastercard etc. For your convenience, we also accept Google Pay and Apple Pay.

How much is delivery, how long does it take?

We subsidise shipping costs for the benefit of our customers. A small delivery charge of £2.50 is made or £3.50 on some heavier items. We aim to deliver most orders within 3-5 working days but please allow up to 14 days to receive your items. Further details can be found on our delivery and returns page.

How will I receive my items?

Early edition comics, Commando numbered 1-499, as well as some early Picture Library and signed editions will be individually bagged and boarded but not sealed. Bags and boards are optional on other comics, please add these during checkout if required. They are then protectively wrapped and dispatched, where possible. in a small box designed to fit through a standard letterbox.

I am not in the UK, can you deliver to my location?

Due to the complexities of shipping rates, customs and taxation, the website is not set up to accept orders from overseas. Brexit terms often make it more difficult to deliver to Europe than other parts of the world. Postage costs can vary significantly. However, we can and have, successfully delivered to many customers worldwide. Please get in touch with any specific requirements and we will be happy to provide a quote.

My order has not arrived/is damaged can I get a refund?

We take care to ensure your order arrives in a timely manner and in good condition. However, we acknowledge that things can sometimes go wrong and items go missing or get damaged on route. In this instance, please contact us to let us know and provide photographs of any damage. This will enable us to make a compensation claim with the courier.

I have changed my mind, can I get an exchange/refund/credit?

We hope that you will be pleased with your purchase. If you change your mind, in some circumstances you may be able to get a refund or store credit. Further information can be found on our delivery/returns page. Regardless, please do contact us with any issues as we are keen to provide the best possible service.

Are your items new or used?

All of the comics we sell are pre-owned and are not new. We may sell some accessories – bags, boards etc and these would be brand new.

How do I know what is meant by ‘very good’, ‘good’, or ‘acceptable’ condition?

What we mean by these condition states is described in full on our notes on item condition page. In addition to these general descriptors you should also take into account photographs and specific condition notes on each product page.

Do you use stock photos?

Absolutely not! At least, not for comics. Stock photos may on occasion be used for some accessories. All listings for pre-owned comics, however, will always include photos of the actual item for sale only. Every photo of a comic for sale has been individually taken and uploaded by ourselves so that you can be absolutely certain that what you see is what you’ll get.

Can I request more photos?

Every comic we have for sale should include at least two photos of the actual item. However, we want our customers to feel confident in what they are buying so please do request further photos if you wish, particularly if considering the purchase of a more valuable item.

I can’t find the comic I was looking for, does this mean you don’t have it available?

We have a large volume of comics available and receive new stock continuously. It takes time to photograph and create a listing for each comic and so it is entirely possible we may have items that are not yet listed on the website. Please feel free to enquire and send us your wishlists.
