One of only two annuals produced by Commando, the other being the 1989 edition. The annual breaks from Commando tradition by featuring stories in colour. Some stories are in full colour while others are dual tones. The 1990 edition featured 7 previously unpublished stories, as follows:

A Fistful Of Lightning – Joe Richter and his brother Viktor were fighter aces – but Joe flew for the R.A.F., while Viktor fought for the Luftwaffe!

Debt Of Honour – A broken regimental cane bridges two wars and unites two enemy families.

The Coward – Twice called a coward, Tod Graham goes to war at sea under the vengeful eye of his accuser.

Fighters North – An R.A.F. Hurricane squadron, split by rivalries, tackles the Luftwaffe in the skies above North Russia.

Reluctant Hero – Daniel Conway was an expert at looking after Number One, yet he found himself spearheading a suicide mission on D-Day.

Death March To Kohima – A loudmouth finds himself in charge of a squad of non-combatants behind the Japanese lines.

Ship Of Shame – All that stands between a Japanese raider and an Allied invasion beach is H.M.S. Whaskerby – a clapped out landing ship with a crew who had mutinied.
