Summary:

Nobby Clarke and Lanky Lymburn were a tough pair of regular soldiers. Simon Smythe was new to war, but he was lucky to have these two rogues help him brave his baptism of fire. It also helped that they all served in a regiment steeped in the bravery and tradition which put backbone into men.

That glory only lasted, though, until the fateful battle when the regiment lost its honour. The shocked survivors of that sad day now faced a tougher task than any of the unit’s previous heroes – the struggle to march again with pride in the regiment . . .
